CCTV installation
We design and install CCTV systems for homes, shops, offices, industrial units and yards across Manchester and North West England. Every site is different, so we start with what you actually need to see — a gate, a till point, a loading bay, a car park — and work back to the cameras, positions and recording that achieve it.
Systems are set up so you can view live and recorded footage on your phone or a monitor on site, and export clips when you need to hand something to an insurer or the police.

How to scope a CCTV system
- Start with the views that matter. Identification of faces or number plates needs a tighter view than general scene coverage — one camera cannot do both well.
- Consider light levels. Dark yards and unlit driveways benefit from cameras designed for low light or with built-in illumination, rather than more cameras.
- Decide how long you want footage kept. That, plus resolution and camera count, sets the storage in the recorder.
- Think about cabling routes and power. Wired cameras are usually the most reliable; where cabling is difficult we will tell you the practical options.
- Plan for people as well as property. Cameras that overlook areas beyond your boundary bring extra responsibilities, so it is worth positioning carefully from the start.

What to tell us for a quote
- The address and type of property, and whether it is occupied during the day
- Roughly how many views you want covered, and what each one is for
- Whether there is an existing system, and the make if you know it
- Whether the building has loft, ceiling void or surface trunking routes for cable
- Photos of the outside of the building are very helpful if you have them
Common questions
How many cameras do I need?
It depends on the views, not the size of the building. A small shop often needs three or four well-placed cameras, while a yard with several approaches can need more. We would rather fit fewer cameras in the right places than fill a quote with views that duplicate each other.
Can I keep my existing cameras?
Sometimes. If the cameras are a reasonable resolution and the cabling is sound, a new recorder can be a cost-effective upgrade. Very old analogue cameras usually limit what a modern recorder can do, and we will say so rather than sell you a partial improvement.
Do I have obligations if my CCTV covers a public area?
If your cameras capture people outside your own boundary — a pavement, a shared car park, a neighbour's garden — you take on data protection duties around signage, access to footage and how long it is kept.
