Fire alarm servicing
We service and maintain fire alarm systems across Manchester and North West England, whether or not we installed them. A service visit checks that the panel, detection, call points and sounders do what they should, identifies anything that has degraded, and leaves you with a written record for your fire safety file.
We also take on systems that have been left unserviced or partly disabled. If devices have been isolated to stop nuisance activations, we will find the cause instead of leaving them switched off.
What we offer
- Periodic servicing of conventional, addressable and wireless systems
- Panel checks, device testing, sounder and battery checks
- Written service records and a clear list of any defects found
- Repairs and device replacement, including obsolete-part advice
- Investigation of recurring or unexplained activations
- Takeover of systems with no recent service history
How often and what gets checked
- Servicing frequency should follow the system's own documentation and the needs of the building, so we confirm it against your system rather than quoting a blanket interval.
- Routine testing between service visits is normally done in-house — typically a weekly call point test and a log book entry.
- A service visit is not just a walk round: devices are tested, the panel's history is reviewed and faults are recorded.
- Recurring activations are treated as a defect to diagnose, not something to isolate.
- Records matter. Keeping the log book and service reports together makes inspections and handovers far easier.

What to tell us for a quote
- Panel make and model, and the number of devices if you know it
- Building address, floors and whether access is restricted to certain hours
- Date of the last service, and any recent reports or defect lists
- Any known faults, isolated zones or persistent activations
- Whether you also need call point and log book training for staff
Common questions
How often should my fire alarm be serviced?
There is no single figure that fits every system. The right interval comes from the system's documentation and the building's use, so we confirm it on site rather than quote a standard number. Between visits, routine in-house testing and log book entries are expected of the responsible person.
Will you service a system you did not install?
We can assess an existing system even if we did not install it. Send us its make, model and service history so we can confirm what is needed.
What happens if the service finds faults?
You get a written record of the defects with an explanation of what each one means in practice, and a separate quote for the repairs. We will tell you what needs doing promptly and what can be planned, rather than presenting everything as urgent.
