Door entry systems
Door entry lets you see and speak to whoever is at the door before you let them in. We install and repair audio and video entry systems for blocks of flats, offices, care settings, schools and industrial units across Manchester and North West England.
We work on new installations and on tired existing systems — replacing failed panels and handsets, or upgrading a whole block to video where the wiring allows.
What we offer
- Audio and video entry panels for single doors and multi-occupancy blocks
- Handsets, video monitors and app answering on a phone
- Panel and handset replacement on existing systems, often reusing cabling
- Gate and vehicle entry panels with intercom
- Trade buttons, timed release and integration with access control
- Fault finding on blocks where individual flats have lost service
Choosing a door entry system
- Count the flats or offices that need to answer the door, and whether each needs video or audio only.
- Decide whether calls should reach handsets, phones, or both — apps suit buildings where people are often out.
- For an existing block, the current cabling often decides what is practical without redecorating communal areas.
- Panels take abuse in public entrances, so material and mounting matter as much as features.
- If deliveries and contractors are a daily issue, think about how they will be handled before choosing a panel.
What to tell us for a quote
- Number of flats, offices or units to be called
- Whether you want audio only, video, or app answering
- Whether there is an existing system, and what is failing
- How many entrance doors or gates need panels
- Photos of the existing panel and a communal handset if possible
Common questions
Can we reuse the existing wiring in our block?
Frequently yes. Some systems work over the existing pairs, which avoids new cabling through communal areas. It depends on what is there and how many cores are available, so it is one of the first things we check on site.
Can calls come to my phone instead of a handset?
Many current systems support answering on a phone, which suits landlords, small offices and residents who are often out. It needs a reliable internet connection at the building, and we would normally keep a handset or panel-side fallback.
Can door entry work alongside fobs for residents?
Yes — visitors call the flat, while residents and staff use a fob or code on the same panel. That is the usual arrangement for blocks, and it links naturally to a wider access control system if you have one.
